The mission of Big Muddy Records is to produce and promote the unique musical culture of St. Louis by providing music enthusiasts with albums containing everything from raw, energetic songs to professional quality recordings and by creating promotional efforts that create an unforgettable and spiritual musical experience that encourages a renewal of a communal relationship in the music industry.
Big Muddy Records began in November of 2005 in order to release the Vultures self-titled EP. Since then, Big Muddy Records has grown at an amazing rate, releasing four high quality full length albums in a little less than a year and began preparations for expanding into the national market.
Big Muddy Records is in the business of Rock and Roll. The artists of Big Muddy Records are in the business of making Rock and Roll. Rock and Roll is in the business of not only saving the world, but more importantly, saving our souls. Nothing more could be asked for and nothing is more important. The Mississippi River town of Saint Louis was once a beacon of freedom and originality; a frontier of independence and exploration. We know our history and we know the pains of neglect. In the modern world, individual expression struggles despite its undeniable relevancy and magnitude. Voices exist but the most profound are lost in the cacophony of a petty society. Today, Big Muddy Records attempts to revive a dying art.
